Bonita (Bonnie) Brodner (Goodman)

So sorry to hear about Nick.  Our deepest sympathy to his family.

My husband, Norman Goodman, and I both lived in the Bronxdale projects where "Nicky" lived.

Nicky would give my best friend, Clare Haber, and myself rides on his bicycle.  We always thought

he was so cute!  My husband played baseball with Nick.  Many years ago my sister-in-law, who

lived in Waterbury, invited Nicky to her house because we were visiting her.  He was still so cute!

It was really nice seeing him then and reminicing about Bronxdale.  Too sad! Bonnie Brodner Goodman

I just met Nick for the first at our last reunion in Florida in 2016. We had an enjoyable and memorable talk about our lives. He was in good spirits and had clear memories of his childhood in the Bronx. He seemed to be enjoying talking about sports associations, his past relationships with those involved in sports. His sudden passing just shocked me as he seemed to be in good health. So it's very sobering to think how fragile our lives are. We are experiencing these loses more and more as we age. Nick had a wonderful soul and a genuine appreciation of being around people. I really enjoyed my brief encounter with him and this memory will be with me a long long time.May he rest in peace.

We hung around in High School but lost contact until I saw him in San Antonio Texas when he was playing professional baseball with the El Paso Sun Kings of the Texas League In 1965.  Found him when I was working on finding people to attend our 40th reunion in 2001.  I am most proud that by my finding him he reconnected with his HS sweetheart Eileen and that they had 15 years of wedded bliss before his passing.  I saw him again at the 55th reunion in Del Ray Beach this past year when I stayed at his home where he, Eileen and I reminisced about our teenage years.  Talked to him just a couple of weeks before his passing.  He holds a special place in my heart.  Condolences to his loving and lovely family.  Rest in peace my dear friend.

Very saddened by Nick's passing last week. He was a great baseball player and I had the privilege to play with and against him at Monroe and the Bronx sandlot Leagues. Saw him at the 40th reunion and remember him talking to Eileen as Lorraine and I were leaving the building. The start of their wonderful life together. We spent most of the night together at the 55th reunion and sat at the same table along with Ben Shelkowsky, Frank Figueroa and their wives and Bobby Allison. Nick looked and sounded great! There are very few individuals in the world who possess a unique quality of being able to reach out to people in all walks of life and make them feel comfortable and included. Nick was one of them. Condolences to Eileen and Nick's entire family. Rest In Peace teammate.

I Remember Nick only as a passer by in the halls of James Monroe H.S. It is always distressing to hear that one of us has fallen. My sincerest condolences to Nick's family and friends. It is nice to know how fulfilled his life was. We celebrate the accomplishments of our fallen classmates. A life well spent.  Again, sincerest condolences.

I am so very sad to hear about Nick. I remember him well as we all played baseball together, me being the only female who played with the rest of the fellows almost every evening in the large field area in the Bronxdale Projects. He was a fantastic baseball player and a really sweet person. My condolences to his family on their loss.
